The new Siemens SIPROTEC 6MU85 Merging Unit, based on the flexible SIPROTEC 5 protection and control system, supports both conventional and non-conventional instrument transformers (LPITs). As a result, it digitalizes all primary data close to the process level for faster and more reliable data transmission.

Moreover, the SIPROTEC 5 Process Bus delivers versatile solutions and smooth migration concepts, enabling utilities to upgrade both new and existing substation systems efficiently.
