Siemens Ruggedcom RS900C Small Form Factor Managed Ethernet switch has two variants RS900NC and RS900GNC.
1A.) Siemens RS900NC Ethernet Switch:-
The RuggedSwitch® RS900NC is a 9-port industrially hardened, 56-bit encryption fully managed, Ethernet switch specifically designed to operate reliably in electrically harsh and climatically demanding environments. The RS900NC provides a high level of immunity to electromagnetic interference and heavy electrical surges typical of environments found on plant floors or in curbside traffic control cabinets.
An operating temperature range of -40 to +85°C (-40 to +185°F) coupled with hazardous location certification (Class 1 Division 2) allows the RS900NC to be placed in almost any location. The RS900NC is packaged in a compact, galvanized steel enclosure that allows either DIN or panel mounting for efficient use of cabinet space. The RS900NC provides an integrated power supply with a wide range of voltages (88-300VDC or 85-264VAC) for worldwide operability or dual-redundant, reversible polarity, 24VDC and 48VDC power supply inputs for high availability applications requiring dual or backup power inputs.
The RS900NC’s superior ruggedized design coupled with the embedded Rugged Operating System (ROS®) provides improved system reliability and advanced networking features making it ideally suited for creating Ethernet networks for mission-critical, real-time, control applications. The versatility and wide selection of fiber optics allow the RS900NC to be used in a variety of applications. The RS900NC provides up to three 100 Mbps fiber optic Ethernet ports. Therefore, it supports a fiber backbone with high noise immunity and long-distance connectivity.
1B.) Siemens RS900GNC Ethernet switch:-
The RuggedSwitch® RS900GNC provides 10 managed Ethernet ports for reliable operation in industrial environments. Moreover, it offers dual-fiber Gigabit uplink ports, 56-bit encryption, and eight Fast Ethernet copper ports. Engineers design the RS900GNC to operate reliably in harsh industrial environments. Therefore, it resists electromagnetic interference and heavy electrical surges. The RS900GNC operates in temperatures from −40°C to +85°C. Therefore, its hazardous location certification and strong steel enclosure allow installation in almost any location. The embedded Rugged Operating System (ROS®) offers advanced networking features such as Enhanced Rapid Spanning Tree (eRSTP™) and Port Rate Limiting. Therefore, it improves network availability and management.
The RS900GNC leverages versatile fiber optic options to support a wide range of applications. The RS900GNC provides two fiber optic Gigabit Ethernet ports to create a backbone with high noise immunity and long-distance connectivity. The embedded Rugged Operating System (ROS®) provides advanced layer 2 and layer 3 networking functions, and advanced cybersecurity features. Coupled with its rugged hardware design, the RS900GNC supports real-time control applications where high reliability and availability are essential.
